The Canada Learning Bond helps lower-income families save for their children’s post-secondary education. Children must have been born in 2004 or later to be eligible.
The federal government will put $500 into an eligible child’s Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) when an application is approved for the Canada Learning Bond. Eligible children will receive $100 a year each year they qualify, up to $2,000.
We want to help the thousands of children not receiving this benefit to get it. They are more likely to go on to post-secondary if there is money set aside for their future.
